Sorry about the lack of posts to the blog. I just got through having a conversation with someone about people who have blogs then don't use them. So when did I turn into that guy?

Anyway, editing and post production on the demo of "The Sacrament" have been going really slowly. I had to replace an audio production machine, so my pet spare G4 went to fillthat slot, so now I have another one which is not so good. Ho hum. On the up side it has WAY more memory so it might turn out for the best.

Basically I have to edit the scene together, then ADR/loop/re-record the dialogue and sound effects. Then I have to separate the shots out and motion track and add backgrounds. Then mix and add music. Then cut together a short teaser trailer. Then and ONLY then can I start sending out applications for funding. I'll be enclosing the footage we've done (the demo version), soundtrack music, story boards, screenplay, production designs, costume designs, production photos, etc. so we'll be looking like a going concern rather than just a half-assed idea.

Budgetwise, my initial maths indicates we should go for £150,000-250,000. Funnily enough, getting hold of small amounts of money is harder than getting larger amounts. You can get £4,000,000 for building a statue to honour someone on a nod and a wink, it seems, but getting £16,000 means losing a limb or first born child.

My guess is that we are going to have to start filming and get the money while we're doing it. If that's the case, this will take a lot of fast talking to persuade people to stay involved. But I think they want to do it enough. We'll see.

Just about to go away for the weekend to be a surprise guest at a birthday party. Won't say any more about that till it's done, for obvious reasons. I'll tell you all about it on Monday.
