Out with the old, IN with the new
Okay, bald facts mostly because a) I'm tired as hell after packing, emptying the shed, taking stuff to the dump, etc. b) I just swallowed two really large gin and tonics and they are are starting to kick in. Funny I never normally drink at all, but lately I've been hitting the booze. I'm just figuring out all my friends who drink all the time don't give a crap what's happening to them. Taking a leaf out of their book, or a glass out of their drinks cabinet.
We exchanged contracts on Friday, which means the house sale is definitely going through. It's costing more than I will make though so a mixed blessing.
Spent the day turfing stuff out of the summer house/shed. Carved a bloody smile in my finger getting the sack truck out of the car... spent the rest of the day driving grime into the cut. Ow.
And emptying out the shed... the spiders have held sway in there for YEARS. There was cobweb in a fine mist all over the floors and walls. I spent the day trying to wipe sticky web stuff off my hands and face and failing. I am grimy to my very bones. I want to burn these clothes.
But the good news is that we will be moving into the new place, a bungalow called The Acorns. It's a very cool place. I hope we will be very happy there. We are moving on the 10th May, and will probably not have a landline phone so will only be available on the mobile.
Funny because it looks a lot like the houses I pass on the way to work which I've been being very jealous of.... now I'm moving into one. I'm hoping in this new place to get a lot of new memories. All my old memories of my past life have been made so painful to me, it's going to be nice to start making new ones. I need some happy memories and this old house has nothing but bad ones. I can't wait to get out of here.
Oh and for those of you groovy cats out there, I'm on Facebook and got LOADS of pictures on there, more recent ones than on any other site. Must throw them on FLICKR and MySpace too.
Just had a sensational meal, kids and Mia very well fed. And more booze. I'm gonna sleep tonight.
Peace out. xxx
